GST Notice ToolFor CA firms

Terms of use

DRAFT — not legal advice. This draft was prepared to describe how the service actually works. Have it reviewed by a lawyer before launch, and fill in every item in [square brackets].

Last updated: [date]

1. Who we are

The GST Notice Tool ("the Service") is operated by [legal name of the business], [address] ("we", "us"). Contact: [support email].

2. Who may use the Service

The Service is for Chartered Accountant firms and other tax professionals ("Firms") and their authorised staff ("Users"). By creating an account you confirm that you are authorised to bind your Firm to these terms.

3. What the Service does

  • It reads GST return files you upload (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B and, optionally, a purchase register), compares them, and produces a mismatch report and a draft reply in Form GST ASMT-11.
  • Reconciliation figures are computed by deterministic software. Where you choose AI drafting, explanatory text is written by an AI model from masked facts; it never computes figures.
  • Everything the Service produces is a draft. It is not tax, legal or professional advice. A qualified professional must review and verify every figure and statement before anything is relied on or submitted to any authority.

4. What the Service does not do

  • It never logs in to the GST portal, never asks for or stores GST portal credentials or OTPs, and never files or submits anything.
  • It never contacts tax officers, taxpayers or any third party on your behalf. Only you, or a person authorised under Section 116 of the CGST Act, 2017, may appear before the authorities.

5. Your responsibilities

  • You will upload only data you are lawfully entitled to process, for the purpose of advising the taxpayer concerned, and you are responsible for any notice or consent your clients need.
  • You will keep passwords confidential, use individual accounts for each staff member, and tell us promptly at [security email] of any suspected unauthorised access.
  • You will not upload malicious files, attempt to access other Firms' data, probe or disrupt the Service, or use it to build a competing product.
  • You remain solely responsible for the content of any reply or return you file, and for compliance with the CGST Act, 2017, the rules under it, and professional standards (including those of the ICAI).

6. How we handle uploaded data

  • Uploaded files are processed in memory and are not stored. They are discarded as soon as processing ends.
  • Results (the report and draft reply) are kept encrypted for [60] minutes (never more than 24 hours) so that you can download them, and are then deleted automatically. You can delete them sooner with "Delete now".
  • We keep only account information, usage counts and job metadata (time, status, number of files and findings), never client names, GSTINs, amounts or file contents. See the [Privacy notice](/privacy).
  • AI drafting (optional). If you tick "Draft explanations with AI", masked facts are sent to our AI provider, [Anthropic PBC], to write explanation text. Names, GSTINs, PANs, contact details, document numbers and amounts are replaced by placeholders before sending.
  • Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, for personal data in client files your Firm is the Data Fiduciary and we act as your Data Processor, processing only on your instructions as described here.

7. Accuracy and limitations

The Service depends on the files supplied and on published file formats, which the GST Network may change. Reasons shown as "likely" are automated suggestions, not conclusions. We do not warrant that the Service is error-free, uninterrupted, or that any reply will be accepted by the authorities.

8. Fees

[Pricing, billing cycle, taxes, refunds.] Free pilot use may be withdrawn at any time.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) the Service is provided "as is"; (b) we are not liable for any tax, interest, penalty, or loss arising from use of the Service or from any document filed by you; and (c) our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the [three] months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

10. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time by writing to [support email]. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms or put the Service or other users at risk. On closure we delete account data within [30] days, except where the law requires us to keep it.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. We will notify Firm administrators by email at least [15] days before material changes take effect.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [Jaipur, Rajasthan] have exclusive jurisdiction.
